DESCRIPTION: A quite sweet little gall that can be easily overlooked. Galling occurs on the terminal leaves of the host plant. The leaves, when affected, bunch up and form a globular, hairy rosette measuring up to 10mm wide. Within the white hairs are found tiny mites that feed away with heavy infestations of plant populations sometimes encountered. The best time to see these galls is during the summer months. DISTRIBUTION: Of local distribution primarily in southern Britain but seemingly underrecorded. . HABITAT: On the terminal leaves of Wild Thyme.
